PRESS AND TESTIMONIALS

"There are no half measures at Footwise. This is an extremely focused business, which prides itself on its comfort credentials, as illustrated by its in-house podiatrists and intense staff training. Geared to its affluent surroundings, the business is turning profit from premium products, which allows it to invest in high-end equipment and cutting-edge technology. Attention to detail is a key element of how this store communicates the science behind its comfort brands to its customers, who are treated to a high level of customer service. It all adds up to a business that is definitely moving in the right direction and, moreover, one which has become a deeply embedded prescence in its local community,  Drapers Record, 11th May 2009

" wanted to write a quick email to say what a pleasure it was to shop in your Kensington store yesterday. I have had problems with my feet since I was a teenager and finding your shop has been a revelation. I love shoes and have always had problems finding footwear that is elegant and stylish but also good for my feet. Your range of shoes is excellent and the staff who served me could not have been more helpful. Thank you so much - I will be visiting again!"  Madeleine Jarratt, 6th July 2009

"Many thanks for help locating shops that really want to sell shoes. The shop assistants and manager of Footwise have the right idea when it comes to servicing their customers. They were interested, polite considerate and pleased to order customers requirements and, not at all pushy. All the staff were aware and proud of the quality and comfort of the shoes they were marketing. Finally, the 15 mile journey was worth it for all of the above mentioned and the comfort I get from these shoes. "Alex Kelly, 9th October 2008

"Try out Footwise (Kensington Church Street, W8; 020 7937 9993, www.footwiseuk.com), a specialist store that provides shoes that not only look good but are supportive, too. The service begins with an assessment by a podiatrist, followed by exercise recommendations, suitable footwear and specially designed "foot beds" or orthotics - all under one roof".  Hilary Alexander, Fashion Editor, Daily Telegraph, 26th December 2007

"A step towards healthier feet: A colleague, who wears orthotic inserts to correct her flattened arches, used to clump around in trainers under flirty skirts as she ended up hobbling in Sarah Jesscia Parker-style sandals.   This summer, however, she’s happily tripping around in a pair of Naot Paris sandals.  These have an ergonomically designed cork footbed, which mould to the contours of the feet, acting as a shock-absorber and helping to distribute weight evenly.  “They’re brilliant – the slight heel is so comfy and the clever design lets me remove the footbed to slip in my orthotics,” she says...  Naot Pris sandals, £60, from Footwise in Kensington, London W8 (tel: 020 7937 9993), and Guildford, Surrey (tel: 01483 455586); footwiseuk.com". Mail on Sunday, You Magazine, 23 July 2007

"The offer is spot-on: comfortable, stylish footwear and podiatry with no hint of the clinical".  Draper's Record, May 2007

"Two colleagues, whose feet have been ‘killing them’ jumped (or hobbled) at the chance to test Footwise’s service.  One complained of aching feet if she walked any distance: ‘The bottom of my feet burn like the little Mermaid's in the fairy tale, who felt as if she was walking on knives’.  A Footwise podiatrist carried out a number of foot checks, then videoed her walking barefoot on a treadmill: ‘You could see that my feet rolled inwards as I walked”. Custom-made orthotics were prescribed to support her arches, measured using a revolutionary foot-scanner (rather than a plaster-cast mold). ‘My feet feel more solidly supported and the burning sensation has gone.  I have a spring in my step’.  Custom-made orthotics cost £145 (on top of £45 for a biomechanical foot assessment by a podiatrist).  If this is beyond your budget, Footwise offers a cheaper service costing £40 for digitally fitted insoles (and you may not need a biomechanical assessment for these).  Here, a foot scanner selects the insoles that best match your feet from over 80 available shapes and sizes.  Our second tester, who suffers from plantar-fasciitis, a common condition which can cause severe pain in the heels and the arch, is thrilled with them.  ‘They’re a big improvement on the one-size-fits-all variety from chemists, because they take better account of the exact level of support my arches need.  I felt an improvement within days, and within two weeks I had none of the pain which was normally there when I got up in the morning.  Plus their pinstripe design is quite stylish’".  Sarah Stacy, You Magazine, The Mail on Sunday, 18th March 2007

“It is absolutely clear to us that Footwise is addressing a much needed and expanding requirement.  In our view it is inevitable that this franchise will grow and and become a feature of most main city high streets … “ Orthopaedic surgeons, Surrey Foot & Ankle Clinic

“A pioneer in the comfort footwear market...rewriting the retail rulebook with a sophisticated technical approach" Draper's Record, May 2006

"Dedicated to improving the lot of your feet.  The shop's Podiatrists can analyse your gait, find shoes that fit properly, and supply specially designed orthotic footbeds where necessary".   Evening Standard, 21st November 2006

"We believe that this system [operated by Footwise], creates orthoses which can only be compared, in terms of quality, to those devised by the more elaborate use of plaster casts. When compared to this system,  other digitised techniques (and, in particular, those capturing data from pressure mats or based upon manipulating materials through pressure or heat) produce devices of inferior accuracy and functionality.”  Bolton Hospital NHS TRUST

“The good thing about these insoles is that they cushion my feet from the heels to the toes and retain their shape – which is a first for me when it comes to orthotics as most of the softer materials that I have had in the past flatten out quickly.” Sue Parker, London Marathon Runner

“We have had these footbeds on a regular basis for all our players here at Derby county FC, and we have had a good season this year with fewer injuries…’ Physio, Derby FC

“This CAD-CAM pin-contact system is the only digitised orthoses fabrication system currently approved by the Canadian Medical Association.” Health Canada (Canadian Medical Association)
